Academic radiologists are many times faced with scans done in private centers for second opinions. Many big private hospitals have a policy of getting all the imaging studies done outside to be reported again by their own in-house radiologists. Then there are complex cases in which a consultant may want to take second opinion from an experienced radiologist with whom he has a rapport.

The report and findings are recorded accurately in the case records. The opinion is incorrect as per expert medical opinion.”

This is the way a lawyer has pitted two different radiology consultations against each other to frame a consumer case.

I knew six honest men
They taught me all that I knew
They are what, why and when
And how, where and who

Do clinicians come and ask your opinion on scans already reported in your department by someone else? What do you do?

Ping Pong.

The two senior radiologists used to cover the morning and evening shifts and there was a junior who was the sandwich, spending four hours with each one of them. He would see how clinicians from different specialties would come with the same scans and request second opinions on them. Both of them tried to outdo each other in contradicting the other one’s reports.
